Pre-Purchase Inspection Checklist for Used EVs from China

Battery Health Assessment

The battery is the most expensive component of any EV. Our inspection covers:

  • State of Health (SOH): Should be above 85% for vehicles under 5 years
  • Charging cycles: Lower is better — under 500 cycles is ideal
  • Fast-charge ratio: High DC fast-charging usage (>80%) may indicate accelerated degradation
  • Range test: Real-world range should match at least 80% of rated range

Exterior & Structural Check

  • Paint depth gauge readings across all panels
  • Panel gaps and alignment check
  • Undercarriage inspection for battery pack damage
  • Tire condition and brake wear

Interior & Electronics

  • Infotainment system functionality
  • ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance) sensor calibration
  • Climate control and seat functions
  • All windows, locks, and lighting

Documentation Verification

  • Original purchase invoice
  • Service records from authorized dealers
  • Insurance claim history — no flood or fire damage
  • Ownership transfer documentation
